About RISING TIDE
Traditional Jazz and Blues is how I would describe this CD. Our second recording, we included four originals. Bruce Chappell and Tom Clark join us on bass and drums.
About APPLE & BRITT
In 1998 we began playing around Delmarva, mostly Ocean City, as a duo. Having similar tastes in music, our songlist became our calling card. It has over 650 tunes on it. More tunes are added each month! We perform mostly for mature audiences. Old Standards, Jazz, Blues and Oldies are our strongest suits. Pop "power ballads" are quite effective for us. We love jazz the most. However, it's almost impossible to make a living playing jazz around here. So, we do all kinds of music. Visit our website: www.rhondaapple.com for more info.
About DALE BRITT (keyboard)
Originally from Crisfield, Maryland. Currently living in Salisbury, MD. Started playing professionally at age 17. My biggest influences were Bill Evans, Hampton Hawes, Andre Previn, Oscar Peterson and Keith Jarrett, among others. My piano style is full of improvisation. Although, part of my style evolved from listening to others, I have, over the years, developed a style of my own. It is very exciting, not knowing what is coming next, while playing a song. I'm always looking for new ways to play a song, with new chords, new voicings, etc. I believe that is what jazz is all about, and what gives the musician the power to evoke strong emotions from his audience. Although jazz is my favorite music, I enjoy playing many different kinds of music. Since that is what I do on the job, I have really enjoyed my career in music thus far.
About RHONDA APPLE (vocals)

Influences include but are not limited to: Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Sarah Vaughn, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, June Christy, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston. My style is versatile, down-to-earth and friendly. Performing many different styles of music, I sing with conviction and strength.

Outstanding jazz, standards, and blues!!!
author: John Cooper-Martin
Apple and Britt, in this album, their others, and in person deliver a dying type of music: beautiful, swinginging jazz; wonderful standards; and great blues songs. They wrote several songs, on this album, including "Rising Tide," "Dirty Old Man Magnet" (my personal favorite, and "Be Bop Forever." Besides these, "Guess Who I Saw Today" tells a great story, which even my teenagers love to hear. Besides their albums, Apple and Britt are wonderful to hear in person. Buy their albums and go to see their shows, which are often at Phillips in Ocean City but at other venues as well. Check out their website for more details about their gigs and go; you'll be glad you did.
