Album Notes

“I've heard the future of rock n roll and it's name is THE APPLE BROS”

David Huijzer, http://altcountrynl.blogspot.com/

Recently receiving two honorable mention awards in BILLBOARD'S World Song competition THE APPLE BROS. have the songs and sounds to deliver. Weened on everything from classic rock & Stax soul to outlaw country & The Ramones, THE APPLE BROS’ blend a Replacements’-like alternative sound with an Americana flavor and sentiment.

Having recorded with some rock & blues greats like Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) & Sonny Landreth, they’ve learned to craft emotional yet powerful songs driven by passion, and often times, desperation.

Born originally as a NYC duo James & Lou (the brothers) keep expanding their sound as well as their members. Recent additions of Joel Cannon on guitar and Ben Toro on bass, both from fellow New York band The Everyothers, have added a depth & tastefulness to their gritty, guitar driven songs. Their tunes run the gamut from the fist in your face, riff-ridden, rock anthem of “Beautiful World” to the twanging, Birds-esque sounds of “Who Have I To Blame.”

They've supported such acts as The Zac Brown Band, Cat Power, The BottleRockets, Marah, Cheap Trick, Noel Redding, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The Flying Nuetrinos, Junior Brown and Question Marc.

Currently the brothers are collaborating with their two new members on a fresh set of soon-to-be classics.

THE APPLE BROS. most recent release EXTENDED PLAY features "The Light's Still On" (H.M. Award winner in BILLBOARD'S 2008 World Song Competition) & "Long Enough To Pretend" from the motion picture “CLIVE BARKER'S The Plague.”

Previous releases also available from THE APPLE BROS. are NASHVILLE available on iTunes.
