Appolonia - Born in Birmingham, UK, of Jamaican Parents, currently living in Dublin, Ireland.

Appolonia is a singer/songwriter, Pat Donne (from Dublin, Ireland, based at Sun Studios, Temple Bar, Dublin) is the producer and arranger for all the tracks.

Appolonia has been writing poems since she could write. It was only in 1997 that she started to set the poems to music, after attending a jamming session with local musicians. In 2004 Appolonia re-located to Dublin, she went to Sun Studios to record some of the songs, with the intention of producing a demo CD to showcase her writing. When Pat Donne produced the first track, Appolonia became hooked.

Appolonia:

I didn’t really know what to expect, but when I heard ‘I know’ (the first song recorded) I knew I wanted to record more and I wanted Pat to produce them. It was a trip. That’s when I knew that I wanted to be a singer/songwriter.

I write when the feeling takes me, usually the melody comes when I write. I don't have a favourite artist because there are so many that I love and it really depends on what mood I’m in. That's why I can't really say I'm a Soul artist or R&B artist because when I write I'm not always in a Soul mood.

I have days where only ‘The Prodigy’ will do, and sometimes I can’t wait to get home to have my ears massaged by ‘D’Angelo’. If I need cheering up ‘Floetry’ come to the rescue and I practice my vocals with ‘Omar’. On days I remember being a small child and watching my mom cook dinner singing to 'Bob Marley' & 'Al Green'. At twelve I was sneaking into my brother’s bedroom to listen to his 'Public Enemy' and 'Jazzy Jeff' tapes. I don’t have any hang ups or snobbery when it comes to music, if I like it, I like it, if I love it, I love it and if I can’t get the tune out of my head, it inspires me. Life inspires me to write. I write about my feelings and thoughts, my friends’ and family’s experiences, the lunchtime news, movies, soap operas, people who pass me in the street, a phrase I might hear. Living and breathing are my inspirations and to me Music is like food, I NEED it every day!

How I feel at the time is what I write and like everybody else I am multi faceted. Hence 'I Am She'

ENJOY!!
