Comprised of musical evolutionists, Gavin Christopher, Anzu Cristina, Lee Curreri and Gyrl Frend, Aquabox "the group" and Aquabox "the album" are both truly progressive and multi-dimensional.
Drawing from each member's talents, the music is Space Hop: a rhythmic conglomeration of retro-funk, soul and trip-hop blended with strong elements of drum'n'bass.
The group says, "before you find this music in mass media you should look for it in real-life . . . because the evolution will not be televised."

Delicious Downtempo Delight
author: Danielle Deneve
I first heard Aquabox at this sexy little afterhours club about a month ago . . . then again last week at a house party . . . Aquabox again!? Two totally different vibes, but both off the hook! There are 17 tracks so there's a little somethin' somethin' for everyone - definitely will appeal to the downtempo/trip-hop/acid-jazz fans out there like me! I bought the cd last Friday night and took it with me to 3 different parties. It was the definitive crowd pleaser. If you take a soul singer like Jill Scott, blend her with some serious sexy downtempo like Mandalay, throw in some Zap Mama funkaliciousness for funzies and top it all off with a bit of Nightmares on Wax - you've got Aquabox. Eclectic? Yes. Dripping with yummy sugah goodness? Absolutely. This is a must-have for serious mush sessions!
