Bassodyssey
author: Funk Lizard
This album is a work of art. It's an instrumental adventure through a flurry of notes, all done by one dude. With one instument. Simultaneously. Guitar and drums aren't even necessary. An audiosonic dreamweeve of stereophonic bliss, the most impressive bass album I've heard since Tales from the Punchbowl. Any given song on the record could become the "Classical Gas"/"Eruption" of bass, given a little time and exposure. A half hour of earphoria, it'll make you completely rethink your playing. Inspiration in a disc. It's not just appealing to musicians either, it'll kick any sound civilian's ear on its arse. This record is mind expanding, you should own it.

Aram is one the greatest bass soloists out there

Aram Bedrosian's debut solo album is nothing short of spectacular. From the moment Space Opera began until the last notes of Reprise faded away, I was completely enthralled by this work of art. Every track had its own defining, unique characteristic, something different to bring to the table; each of them coming together to create an ethereal soundscape. Single-handedly, Bedrosian works to redefine the idea of what the bass guitar is capable of accomplishing by crafting tunes that create the illusion of multiple musicians at work, providing both the rhythm and melody simultaneously. Kudos to Mr. Bedrosian.
