Album Notes

Armenian Music Center is proud to present one of its greatful voices. Having slim and graceful bearing, displaying amazing artistic harmony of singing and convincing dramatic acting, which is full of various deeply feminine and noble emotions, Arax Mansourian is born to sing and act on the stage. Her voice of great range and beautiful timbre, her brilliant gift of acting on the stage, allow the singer to embody different opera characters and create timeless vocal interpretations in the genre of chamber music. While writing about Arax Mansourian's talent it seems redundant to mention such obvious attributes of her skill as, her ability to be attuned to the orchestra, her mastery of the voice and the purity of the tones. Exact interpretations of different trends and periods (from medieval Sharakans and Old Italian masters to the works of modern composers) render special charm to her singing performance. First and foremost it is necessary to emphasize the singer's unique culture in expressing emotions which originates from Arax Mansourian's rich inner life, and is the reflection of high artistic taste and thorough understanding of music. Among the numerous parts which Arax Mansourian sang, the role of Anoush stands out as a basically new interpretation on the Armenian stage. Her chamber music repertoire embraces such composers as Komitas, T. Mansourian, German romances of Frants Shoubert, Robert Shouman, Johanness Brams. In her performance their songs acquire special phonation and become artistically convincing.
