ARCADIA - BIO

It was a very dark night of 1996 when two mentally insane mindfucked people decided to waste their own lives giving birth to a very, very violent creature: ARCADIA !!! Since then their life was completely dedicated to the band (and so, ruined!): after recruiting two other motherfuckers of their area, they started hitting the stage in Northern Italy and recorded their first demos. Not a long time passed and the first record deal came from NoBrain rec., Venice. "Synth", received a huge welcome by the fans and by the media which allowed the band to finally channel their cold fury and aggressive attitude into this record! Synth emphatized Arcadia as a perfect machine with the only target to nihil the listener, to let him feel the band's cold blades penetreting his flesh, leaving him trembling with fear, hid in a corner... In this cd the influences you can hear surely come from the first Fear Factory, Meshuggah and SYL. The band started playing in the most important venues, even supporting famous acts like Henry Rollins in his European tour! After selling their souls for that success, Arcadia were invited to the Sun and Steel Festival in Florida, to play with Obituary, Trivium, Body Count... The time came to find a more suitable line up: two other bastards pieces of shit with whom share emotions and will to kill. The first American tour started, making victims in the whole California to promote the brand new bleeding album "Fracture Concrete". The new album is as red as blood. Unlike "Synth" which was icelike cold, Fracture Concrete is full of passion to explode in outbursts of anger. The heart stops pumping blood, replacing it with acid and sweat. The album is led by instinct and not by useless plans. Back to the Italian homegrave, the band started decomposing other songs doomed to destroy and tear the fans !!! After a bunch of rotting dates in Italy and Europe, the Band went back to the Usa, this time to spread its sick word on the whole west coast !!! The American fans called the music played by the band: ITALIAN BASTARD CORE. Core, because the modern core influence is easily recognizable, bastard because its raw sound mixes and echoes lots of genres, Italian because... well, maybe you already know. Currently the four sons of a bitch are ready to promote the new album, "Cold Cold Bodies", playing EVERYWHERE (check the dates section to see when we are near you),as soon as the European tour starts!!! So... go on... and be a part of this braindead machine called Arcadia...

SOME GERMAN REVIEWS:

HEAVY MAGAZIN (april 08)
by Jorg Schultz
"After a not very representative intro The Italian metal-core brigade Arcadia (living in Los Angeles), directly from the first track "She's Got a Knife" shows how a band like this should move. If on one hand they're direct in your teeth, on the other they're full of intricate melodies.
Here as also in "Kissing Cyanide" we see changes from the so called "call-and-response" passages to very strong musical accents. With "Coaguleted and Almost Forgotten" we also go a step on, while on "Ravens and Dove" we really touch the borderlines of the genre, but you know, this is the single.
This is a level you can hardly keep and sincerely I am impressed each time!
Vote= 10/10

"does Europe come from America...or vice-versa?"

In February we finally received from Point Music/Valery Records this 13track release.
To your ears it sounds like good old cool metalcore...full of cliche'? Na,dudes,it's really really sharp-edged and very well structured.
With no pause, so groovy and hard at the same time!
Here we play with feeling, and you can hear it in any tone, but that's not hard to bear.
It's nowdays about a decade Arcadia is here and there on the scene. " Italian Bastard Core" these 4 guys named their sound.
And so it is.
This last album of the Italians, who actually chose Los Angeles as their base, is something you have to surely listen to. In any case.
Briefly:This is for those who love to take some risk and to pass over the same old standards. Because you don't find this every day.
I throw 8 bombs out of 10 for them!!

Okay,Okay, here we have an Italian band which was formed in the United States. And from there with their "Italian Bastard Core" they want to conquer the world. Even if I have to say their music is kinda difficult I have to admit one thing: it's fucking bastard! And this being bastard includes good ideas, good melodies and a good voice (or screaming, as you want) and other shit. Back to the band, these 4 Italians who in '98 recorded their first demo "Trust" with which they were already creating a personal sound. The response of the scene was very good and this brought them to sign for the label NoBrain, and one year later they released their debut album "Synth" and toured here and there in their country. After "Trip to the Sun", a first American tour followed, as a new album followed too: " Fracture Concrete". After the tour the band decided to settle in Los Angeles and after some years of hard work, here is the last album, "Cold Cold Bodies". Briefly, it's a very interesting album with very good metalcore songs like "She's got a Knife" (ehi what a punch!), "Kissing Cyanide", "Coagulated and Almost Forgotten", "Ravens and Doves" (the video of the song is included in the cd) and "Oxygen and a Very Good Pill". Those were just some example from an album which convinced me.

METALWAVE
author: Carnival Creation
METALWAVE It's not easy to judge Arcadia. The listener seems to be in front of a kind of very skilled hardcore; a touch of death metal, some Thrash, industrial element here and there and also some nu metal influences coming directly from the last Korn ( who, doubtless are in their decline and the influences here noticed belong to the very past). During the listening the tracks are flowing, the sound is very good and in their totality the result is stupefying. The drumming keeps up the guitar riffs, sometimes too much abused but mostly used in the best way, but for sure one of the first things you may notice is the multiple influences I was saying before...I mean, it's strange and cool to find a band with a lot of things to say with the will to experiment something. Just to quote one, "Of Rust, Needles and a Taste of Blood" really reminds me Meshuggah, so Arcadia are technical and skilled, including the voice. There are a lot of hardcore bands which I play in my player...but this is a revelation! By Carnival Creation

BABYLON MAGAZINE

BABYLON MAGAZINE The one I just put in my player is a very interesting cd; it's an Italian Band called Arcadia. Their album is a very direct one with typical sounds from very technical bands like Meshuggah, nu metal like Slipknot or Disturbed, HC old school like Bury Your Dead and trashcore like Dagoba. All the tracks are enriched by the use of a melodic chorus easy to remember. It's a nervous journey of one hour circa through killing tracks which just sometimes allow you to breath....but just to let you fall down again in a sick and paranoid tornado. It seems like these tracks have been written by a mixture between Fear Factory and the recent Korn. Maybe it's not very personal but this album cannot be not appreciate. What really convinced me most are the bass and drums, so precise and heavy, and the riffs created by the guitar, so sharp. The most inspired songs are "Coagulated And Almost Forgotten", "Raven And Doves" and "Oxygen And A Very Good Pill". This work of the band clearly stands as a kind of intent to conquest the scene in Europe and Usa, also considering all the long tours the band made abroad. Well this is really a band you should keep an eye on and their next album will be probably their definitive Album. By Fabrizio Ferrari

SILENT SCREAM MAGAZINE
author: Flavio Ignelzi
"Cold Cold Bodies" is the new album by Arcadia ( band from Vercelli on the scene for more than ten year), album that, differently from the preceding ones, is less "cyber thrash". OK, till now nothing too much strange. You know influences may vary and evolve during your career. But what strikes me is how the aspects of the genre are still present but in a new way, they are grinded and recomposed with a more "crossover" and technical attitude and getting a new strong abrasive and brutal approach, even if less gloomy than the other albums. Of course you can find some Meshuggah, Fear Factory and Strapping Young Lad and with some fantasy also a kind of "ultra metallized" Primus. Anyway we can find a kind of easy listening in the album which is NOT being commercial. "Kissing cyanide" for example sounds very easy also to non metal listeners, above all for the chorus. It's barely rock even if it's not rock. Probably the factors which create this situation are the uses of the voice, never too extreme in screams or growls and its clear and aseptic sound. Also present is the attracting style in which some songs are structured, so intricate, maybe coming from a death metal matrix ( as mostly in "Coagulated And Almost Forgotten”, “It Corrodes The Stars”), deviant melodies , rhythms full of hysteria and mercilessness which probably reach the top in the last "Of Rust, Needles and a Taste of Blood", symbol of the NEW Arcadia, with its final part in loop till the length of 11 minutes. An album with its own dignity, ready to be internationally released. By Flavio Ignelzi

ROCK IMPRESSION
author: Francesco Ronchi
Arcadia is an exploding mix. It's not a case you can read on their myspace how they are influenced by the psycho genius David Townsend with his Strapping Young Lad. As the good old Townsend does, also Arcadia try to fuse together a perfect technical prove with lucid and intricate composing madness. Solid and precise are the patterns played by Edoardo "Cacao" Nicodemo are bones on which all the song is structured in between hardcore, death metal and crossover. And in "Cold Cold Bodies" you can find all the influences of the band leaders in each kind. “She’s Got A Knife” stands between the anger of the first Linea77 ( the ones of Ketchup Suicide) with some clear inspiration from Fred Durst's vocal lines. Of great impact are the following Kissing Cyanide” and “Coagulated Almost Forgotten” which start with a crossover attitude but end in a new generation death metal ( Soilwork et similia ). When it seems you have found all the sources Arcadia take from, here we are with a new one: Meshuggah, easily to be found in the very violent and almighty "It Corrodes the Stars" or in the last part of "Of Rust, Needles and a Taste of Blood". It's this attitude not to "clone" other bands but to "quote" with its own style. This thing, with the composing capacity of this 4 guy band confirms the inspired talent of Arcadia, which from the "madness" belonging to Townsend has create a kind of an "own genre" or better, a NEW genre. Doc Metal! By Francesco Ronchi
