It has been quite a journey~ a long journey infused with joy, passion, magik, love, mystery, pathos and even some tragedy. We hope the music reflects all the elements of the journey.

One of the tragedies during the making of Magik & Mayhem was the loss of a very dear friend, The Butterfly, a.k.a. Jamie Chez. Jamie appears on "Say My Name" playing bass and guitar. He was a gifted and versatile musician; and his warm, gentle spirit and wonderful sense of humor left no one he encountered untouched. It`s this spirit that lives on and continues to inspire us. At AREA 27 we believe in spreading the love, and a part of the love we are spreading comes from our friend Jamie Chez. A portion of every album and download sold will be donated to Jamie`s daughter Nova at

Special thanks to MJ Denton, Justin McCartney, Viveka Davis, Richard Reed, Ed Davila, and Snowball, and to all our friends who have been so helpful and supportive during the making of this album.

Area27, Magik & Mayhem
One of the best combinations of the music worlds that I like most. Pop, trip hop, electronica... Very cool and very pleasant album. It will stay in my car to accompany me on my journeys for a long time.
