Album Notes

Seventeen-year-old Alex Arestegui has been an Electronic music enthusiast from the budding age of seven. Captured by the Robert Miles masterpiece, "Children" (1995), Alex discovered an impetus that would keep him ticking for the following years to come.

"Proem" is the current result of Alex's passion for Electronic music. Comprising of various elements and styles, it portrays a period in his life that has been emotional and inspiring. It is a soulful compilation of various qualities. It is a full musical experience, including dreamy washes of keyboards that slowly unfold over a chest-thumping kick drum as the music conveys an emotional, classical bend. Having a deft sense of how to build crowds into a frenzy while also being capable of setting one's mind at ease is what sets Alex's compositions apart.

An excellent start!

Can't wait to hear more from Alex to see how he develops his style. Proem is the best track on here as the melody is just so strong. There are some really nice moments on here but in places it feels a bit insubstantial. He clearly has great composition skills and an ear for melody and drive but I personally think his ideas could be condensed down into some simpler, stronger tracks with more depth and focus, particularly if they are club trance productions. Shame there wasn't a couple of ambient pieces in here to add some contrast. I could totally see him pulling off some Thomas Newman style soundtrack moments with ease. Keep at it Alex, as this albums been around a while now I guess you are due to drop your next masterpiece on us pretty soon!

A fabulous trance mix, very cleverly put together, I first heard Proem, on our local radio station, not the mix on the CD but, in my opinion a better longer mix. I deserves 10 out of 10,because I cannot fault it at all. It has constantly been playing, either at home or in the car.Excellent, looking forward to more from Alex. Daphne Morgan.

"Alex Arestegui drops a whole new level of epic trance on the dance community, delivering some extreme dynamics that can transform a high-pressure 4/4 stormer into a deep piano- laden interlude so delicate and pure you'll never expect the crescendo waiting for you right around the corner. Superb electronic production on par with the likes of System F, Ferry Corsten, and Gouryella." - Download.com
