Ariane Lydon is the only known musician to play the harp and 12-string guitar simultaneously (as featured in Track 9, "Fireflies"). This British-born transplant to the US is a classically trained pianist who mastered the 36-string folk harp 10 years ago. She makes it vibrate on the same wavelength as your soul and creates music to center your spirit.
"The Open Harp" features 9 beautiful original compositions and is approximately 60 minutes of relaxing and unforgettable instrumental music.
"Every so often, there is an artist whose music flows out from the depths of the soul to touch our hearts. Ariane Lydon is such an artist. The multi-talented Ariane is a veteran recording artist who has been involved in the production of nine CDs, and who has recently released her second solo album. This album, which she calls The Open Harp, masterfully captures the clear and angelic voice of her glorious harp in a rich outpouring of music emanating from the deepest soul level. This is music that has brought tears to the eyes of many who have heard it. The delicious arrangement of the Irish "Star of the County Down" and her own "Fireflies" you may have heard live. The rest of the music on The Open Harp is brand new."
"The Edge," March 2001
