ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Ariel Tebben returns in strong form with her second self-produced album Crown of Stars.
Here is another beautiful recording overflowing with Ariel's haunting, ethereal sound. Her voice soars as never before, her Celtic harp, piano and guitar seamless, flowing and transcendent.

For this collection she is joined by Producer/Musician Lara Michell, Flutist Jen Bernard and Engineer/Musician Jason Roark who bring their tremendous talent to these new songs.

Included on Crown of Stars are eight new compositions by Ariel with 'Weeping Willow' and 'Artemisia' standing out among them. There are lovely renditions of traditional Celtic songs; a lilting Gaelic vocal 'An Mhaighdean Mhara', the Robert Tannahill classic 'Wild Mountain Thyme' and harp tune 'The Fairy Queen' by the legendary harper Turlough O' Carolan.
'Medellia of the Gray Skies', a great melodic song by Smashing Pumpkins/Zwan frontman Billy Corgan is also a standout track.

Overall an outstanding album which will appeal to fans of Celtic, New Age and melodic rock from a gifted and visionary artist.

Ariel Tebben, a wonderful harpist, pianist, guitarist and singer has a beautiful new album 'Crown of Stars'.
It has a combination of traditional songs such as 'Wild Mountain Thyme' and 'The Fairy Queen', plus great new compositions like 'Artemisia' and 'The Far Away Place' with a favorite being 'Twilight's Veil'.
Ariel's music is sweet, melodic and perfect for relaxing...check her out!

Fairy Music
Ariel is an artist I've been listening to at the local New Seasons for the last couple years and everytime I hear her harp music and Gaelic tunes it stirs the Celto-phile in me. So I did the right thing and supported a local artist by buying her CD 'Crown of Stars'. In this day and age of piracy and p2p sharing, it feels both strange but gratifying to buy a tangible disc, take it home and play it on the stereo system. The singer, Ariel Tebben, has quite the interesting background and her music is refreshingly natural and good. Not the processed-to-perfection crap that is coming out of the studios today, but an earthy and accessible music. Her website is: www.arielrosemusic.com

A pleasant, relaxing listen.
It's a relaxing mixture of songs. My favourite is, An Mhaighdean Mhara, The Sea mermaid. It's a nice rendition even though the Gealic pronounciation was not correct in some places. A good effort though and in no way spoils the song. It was my mother who first picked it out being an accomplished Gealic speaker as a native of Ireland.

Wonderful CD and artist
Very relaxing and beautiful music. The GAELIC as mentioned in another review is fine...and spelled GAELIC. Wonderful cd, highly recommend it.

Immortal, Timeless Music, from Ariel's Heart to Yours
There are very few people in this world who can claim to have a full, unbridled understanding of the concept of beauty; Ariel Tebben is one such person. With her second album Crown of Stars, Ariel has become more confident in her talents, though never at the expense of depth and emotion. Here, producer Lara Michell gives Ariel a free license to explore her inner self in her music, building on it with subtle instrumental touches. Standout tracks include the gloriously delicate Artemisia, as well as her versions of An Mhaighdean Mhara, a traditional Gaelic song of the Sea Mermaid, and Medellia of the Grey Skies, a song originally written by Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, given new life through Ariel's shining imagination. If the sweetest dreams are made of music, then Ariel has written the most wondrous and beautiful of them all. *****/5
