"I Can Open My Eyes," Ari Scott's new 3-song EP, marks a significant direction change for this New York City-based singer/songwriter/pianist. After performing as a solo "quirky pop" singer/pianist for several years in many NYC venues, Ari recently collaborated with musician and producer Rob Arthur (Five For Fighting, Keri Noble, Joan Osborne) as well as executive producer Chris Cofoni from EMI/Blue Note/Manhattan Records to create this sampling. The songs on this EP are much more than the simply-arranged piano gems Ari has been playing for years. They are powerful, colorful, lush, and Ari can now easily fit alongside modern rock radio artists. It's only a taste of what's to come.
So far, on http://www.garageband.com and otherwise, the response has been overwhelmingly favorable. We hope you give a listen to the songs, and, if you like what you hear, you'll support this independent artist. All proceeds will go towards new pressings (a good cause)!
The next step in Ari's career is, simply, to the get the word out. You can help by purchasing this EP and sharing it with your friends! Also, check out Ari's 2002 full-length acoustic piano release, "i was only just a chrous girl," at http://www.cdbaby.com/ariscott.

I just recently found Ari Scott and love her music. This CD was absolutely beautiful!
Well worth a listen. Several, actually.
author: LizardThis is an excellent follow-up to "I Was Only Just A Chorus Girl." For those who have become accustomed and attached to the intimacy of Ari and her piano, worry not -- the band adds lushness and depth to the songs without muddying Ari's distinctive sound. I look forward to hearing more from them.
Great Scott!
author: Sharon EdryAri Scott is simply a star...S-T-A-R...this EP may be only 3 songs, and it'll make you long for more, but they are all top-notch intelligent, creative piano-based pop with a twist...you'll absolutely love it, I guarantee it. And when you just can't stand it and you need more Ari Scott, check out her full-length CD "I Was Only Just a Chorus Girl," chock-full of great hooks and clever lyrics. It'll stay stuck in your CD player for months. Where is this girl's record deal? It should be a no-brainer, folks!
Great great songwriting, Wonderful new CD.
author: AmyHaunting, biting, longing, everything. I honestly can't get these songs out of my head. Ari has put together a memorable, soul-stirring, uniquely now CD of three songs. I just wish there were more songs to go along with it. It will definitely be worth the wait.
Wonderful, wonderful and again most wonderful
author: Michael AllenI bought this CD on Tuesday night after I saw Ari live at The Bitter End and I can't quit listening to it. The songs are so well written and performed. Her lyrics touch my sensibilities in way I have not felt in a while. she is a real talent
Hurray, something smart, exciting, riveting!
author: The Etruscan ReviewHurray, something smart, exciting, and riveting! A professional production in every way, this three-song CD showcases the extraordinary talents of Ari Scott as a strong and versatile singer (who doesn't scream out her lyrics; thank you very much) and an intelligent, original songwriter who isn't afraid to employ humor, pathos, and philosophy in her work. The band and Ari are right in synch. Beautiful job. Guaranteed, we’ll be hearing a lot more from this group.
Decent altogether - good song writing and musicianship, bad production
author: JeremyAri is a no doubt a talented singer-songwriter. Hopefully she can put out more material. The production quality is bad and drum machine sounds just don't cut it in this day and age of pro tools. Also, this is only a 3 song EP, buyer beware.
Must Have Music!
author: Raymond SteinerAfter releasing the amazing CD I Was Only Just A Chorus Girl, Ari Scott does it again with I Can Open My Eyes. With three amazing songs and a full band, Ari demonstrates her awesome singing and songwriting and why she is one of the top indie artists today. She deserves to be signed by a major label. I Can Open My Eyes is a definite must have music!
