A native of the Washington, D.C. area, Ari moved to Chicago in the summer of 2001 to take advantage of the city's vibrant jazz scene. Since moving to Chicago, Ari has performed with legendary Chicago tenor saxophonist Von Freeman, Hinda Hoffman, David Young, Taku Akiyama, Corey Wilkes, and Greg Ward, as well as as a leader with his own trio. He has performed at venues such as the Chicago Jazz Festival, Taste of Chicago, Andy's Jazz Club, Pete Miller's Steakhouse, and the Chicago Cultural Center. In addition to playing guitar, Ari has also spent the past 9 years developing his skills as a composer and performing his compositions with his trio. The 2008 release "Time Well Spent" features 9 original compositions interpreted by Ari's current working trio.
