There's more good stuff in this little Pinky...Adorable, quirky folk rock that, like a cat, has some darn sharp and dangerously self-assured claws underneath all that purring.

Album Notes

A six-song introduction to Toronto singer/songwriter Arlene Bishop, "Pinky" (1996) was critically acclaimed across Canada. Arlene's voice is unique: tender, yet world-weary, she writes poetic lyrics set to memorable melodies.

"Pinky" features the funky, catchy "Spin Another One" and the chamber pop "I Can't Stand It". In 1997, HBO used "Spin Another One" in the soundtrack to First Degree, a Rob Lowe made-for-television feature.

In her hometown, Arlene is a respected artist, having opened shows or shared stages with (among others) Bruce Cockburn, Ani DiFranco, Dar Williams, Moxy Fruvous, Ron Sexsmith, Loudon Wainwright III, Barenaked Ladies, Jonatha Brooke, and the Beach Boys.

Produced by Blair Packham
