This is an icon in LDS film music. Produced in 1992-93, the religious feature film "The Mountain of the Lord" set a new standard for craftsmanship and heart. Film composer Arlen L. Card joined Director/Producer Peter Johnson, Co-Writer Nik Gasdik, and Co-Producer Jeff Roberts in a fresh, inspiring telling of the story of the temple that took 40 years, and untold sacrifice, to build, all in honor of the Lord Jesus Christ. Out of their initial poverty, the Latter-Day Saint people, unlawfully persecuted and ejected from the heartland, created a singular monument to their Father in Heaven, the Salt Lake Temple. Huge granite blocks were meticulously hand-fitted together without mortar to support this immense structure. The workmanship is exquisite, both outside and inside, and is a fitting offering to a loving God.
Similarly, great care was taken in the making of this film, and especially in the composition, performance, recording, and mixing of this original soundtrack. Come join Arlen L. Card, audio engineer Michael Chadbourne, and a fine ensemble of musicians for a magnificent ride, and join these unforgettable characters in the working of a miracle.
