ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Arms of the Girl was born in the winter of 2006 when four musicians were looking for a band to jam with. Driven by Carolyn Côté’s powerful vocals and rhythm guitar, Sammy Jo Elderbroom’s intricate guitar riffs and solos, Afton Penny’s inventive bass lines, and Mélodie Demers’s steady beats, the foursome began working on original material and perfecting their sound. Their debut EP, Recipe for Living, was released March 2008.

Arms of the Girl's name is a play on the title of the classic George Bernard Shaw satire Arms and the Man, and their musical influences range from Nine Inch Nails to Silverchair to Kathleen Edwards.
