ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I write songs about dead people... I dont really like calling them 'ghosts' because that conjures ideas of fear and thats not really what the songs are about. Its more about a celebration of life and story telling. Having spent most of my life as a closet musician simply to entertain myself I never really thought I'd ever be revealing my songs to the world. It all started with an email to a guy in America and I think I must have been drunk because I was being very bold and open about music and pretty much put my foot in it. I said I write songs too - he was a musician of course and I think I was just trying to impress him. So then of course he asked to hear them... and there was the problem... so with the only means I had I recorded about 10 of my songs - and one new one I'd written about him and our communications onto a tape recorder. Finding safety in the distance I sent it to him, and I really expected our short but intense email relationship to be over at that point. Surprisingly it became quite the opposite... I did impress him... so much so that he travelled all the way to Australia to meet me and basically moved in. He loved the songs so much he decided to bring a portable recording rig and record my album - how very astonishing for me. It was a life change, it felt so bold to not only reveal the songs to him but potentially anyone in the world. But I was going though a life change and decided if not now then when. We were together for 8 months then he returned to the US because his father was ill. We were separated for 18 long months but spoke almost everyday and emailed constantly. Kenny got a gig in Nashville and that turned into a road trip idea... I was to go there to America and join him... we figured if we can manage that together we could do anything. It was both amazingly wonderful and tough - 3 months on the road in a Honda Civic, playing shows and discovering the broadness of American culture. Another 3 months later we couldnt imagine being apart again and got married.

My music became a band and we play live often (although its still pretty new and scary to me) but its fun and my new life now. My ghostly friends still visit me and tell me their stories and I write about them... the more open I've become to them the quirkier they get...

We are currently working on a new CD due to release APRIL 2011.
