Album Notes

Consisting of two veteran MCs and a DJ, the Artfull Dodgers have been gaining recognition throughout the midwest since the early 90’s. By incorporating several different genres of music into their production, and mixing complex lyrics with innovative deliveries, they have created their own unique style of Hip-Hop. The founding members Brady "Gozza" Gasser and Rex "Jackpot" Demski started with the EP "Dusted World", then later released the album "Lazy Eyes" which received critical acclaim and opened many doors for the Dodgers. The single and video "One Mic Then Pass", quickly became an underground classic throughout the Midwest. The duo promoted heavily headlining as well as rocking shows with Eminem, Wu Tang Clan, Too Short, Petey Pablo and more reaching thousands. In ‘01, they released a new single called "Laced" and after adding Jake "DJ Sir Real" Greba to their roster the crew dropped "Second Wind" and traveled the country touring. With collabs with Wu Tang’s Killah Priest, J.U.I.C.E, and more the 22-song LP was an achievement, and elevated the Dodgers into the underground elite. "Second Wind" even received the prestigious "Album of the Year Award" from Detroitrap.com. The Dodgers went on the road with the Vans Warped Tour. DJ Sir Real then left pursue a career as a solo DJ. Shortly after, longtime friend and collaborator DJ Zack Daniels joined to handle DJ duties. Next the Dodgers began recording their third album "Off The Credenza". The highly anticipated album is self produced by the Dodgers' Earth Movers Productions. Their most artistic and complex album yet, the album was picked up and released by Silent Records out of Detroit. The single “My Opinion” is undeniably infectious and “Bait Shop Boogie” w/ Tino of the Howling Diablos explores a bluesy side of the group’s hip hop. Again the Dodgers lay their patented 10 MC posse cut “Dodgeball”. In total the 23 tracks will have hip hop listeners fanatic about Artfull Dodgers distinct sound and swagger.
