Arthur Smith or "Arthurjys" was born on the island patmos in 1965. With an extremely rare tumor growing inside his face, he was sheltered by his parents who lived in a tunnel that went under the freeway. He has been married and divorced seven times and has had seven children with each marriage all of whom he has never met and does not associate with. He now lives in El Dorado Hills, California with his mother and father and younger brother.

When this here mother earth was created, a 75 inch tall, 165 lb mass was cast aside. The tale goes that this void in space was to be occupied by the one creature who possessed the rawest of raw talents - - finger painting. As the lyrical melodies of Arthurjys´ premier album (koo koo kachaka) whispered luscious lullabies into by ears, it became apparent to me that only the creator of those sound collaborations could claim that gap in the world as home. I found myself captivated by Mr. JYS´ "shiny gold tokens," and his oh so reminiscent lamentations of those incredible "concrete clouds." It´s a winner in my book. Read more...
