Check out his rendition of the standard \"I Left My Heart....,\" complete with Art Tatum-like pentatonic runs in the right hand and a beautiful stride/walking tenth style in the bass. Also, ruminations of James Booker on the New Orleans classic \"Junko Partner.\" This cat can play some piano!

Interesting mix

Didn't know the artist, but will keep my eye open for his future releases. Interesting mix of blues, boogie in left hand and blue grass complexity in right hand. Always easy to listen too, usually very inventive. But despite the title, it was not as "driving" as the piano of Otis Spann, Professor Longhair or Marcia Ball. Maybe it needed some "barrelhouse" added.
