On a drizzly Bay to Breakers morning - no one knew what would transpire near the corner of Fell and Lyon Streets. A friendly DJ and Drummer had set up their gear on the sidewalk to play for the passers by during the annual foot race and mobile party. A gentleman by the name of Chris Rodriguez happened to be at the party and kindly asked the DJ if he might plug in his bass guitar into the mixing board. People immediately were drawn to the ludicrous low that emanated from the speakers.
Another reveler in the crowd, drummer Kevin Amann, also took notice and was astonished at the level of skill and groove coming from this boys fingers and soul. He was also pulled to the stage and asked if he might take to the skins.
Musical history was forged that day my friends. They instantaneously jumped into a groove so solid, so funky, so legendary that they both new that they had discovered something profound. The crowd multiplied around them, bodies began moving uncontrollably, and the vibe of musical glory was palpable to all in the vicinity. Amann and Rodriguez began a trek through all genres, all feels, and all times. in the times since their birth they have evolved into Art in Heaven and have been enlightening the masses around the Bay Area while continuing to grow into a jazz/funk/metal band of never before seen proportions. Welcome.

Live at the Lips

I have been listening to this Cd now for about a week and a half. I find myself picking it out around 3 or 4 o' clock. It has been taking the place of that second cup of coffee or afternoon sweet. That is, it gives me energy to get done what needs to get done!
Oh yeah, I also enjoy hearing the tracks pop up in my playlists. My fav right now is #9 Nexus.
