Art King began his musical career as a child, surprising his mother by singing a few of her favorite blues tunes. He continued developing his talent in church, progressing to singing and playing various musical instruments in bands throughout the Mid-West area; eventually working with groups all over the United States. It was through these experiences that Arthur discovered an ability to write fun and accessible music. It is Arthur's talents as a songwriter, singer and performer in the R& B genre that led him to national recognition in the music industry. Arthur is an artistic adventurer and a musical entrepreneur. Arthur has worked with various musicians in his career and has a positive, respected and well deserved reputation among the people he has worked with both locally and nationally. Micowave (who now is presently in the group “Purple Reign”), Regina Belle, Champaign, Pauli Carmen, One Eighty, Larry Graham. Big Country, Sister Sledge, Bootsie Collins and Luther Vandross are just some of the artists he has worked with. Arthur's influences include everyone from Mozart to Stevie Wonder to B.B. King to Luther Vandross to The Beatles to T-Pain and he appreciates and has worked in Hip Hop, Country, Gospel, Pop, Folk and R&B. Arthur is an artistic adventurer. His music has broken free of the stylistic constraints and limitations that so much modern music is subject to.
