Album Notes

Art has been writing since 1995 and his first song ( DOWN WITH YOUR LOVING) was recently released by a blues artist. Although his first love is country music, gospel and blues are not far behind. Sloppy Drunk was inspired by his late uncle , whose picture is featured on the cover. His uncle was a brilliant man , but was trapped in the Jim Crow era. After working all week, his uncle would become what he referred to as "SLOPPY DRUNK". As a young boy Art would stand on a box and look through the window of the Village Inn juke joint and watch his uncle laugh drink and dance to the likes of Honky Tonk, Blueberry Hill, and Long Tall Sally. Art tried to create that same atmosphere where people would laugh and want to dance upon hearing the first verse. "Don't Take your Hands Off Me" was the result of years of Art's Mother and
Aunties saying "boy, I'm going pray that the Lord keeps his hands on you" The song is tribute to them.
