Album Notes

New Dawn is the title for this CD, it will be my new beginning of vibrational expressions for my own feelings about life. All original songs are the depiction of the
experience, emotions, and wishes at the particular moments in my life.

The note for my original songs:

(1) Late Summer in Virginia Beach

My piano teacher, Mr. Curtis, gave me a new assignment to compose my own song using the specific chords. So, I wrote this song, of me falling in love with moments of walking on the beach since I?ve moved to Virginia Beach. Unlike the restless walking plovers on the beach, the seagulls and dolphins were relaxing comfortably in the sunlight. It was a gracious day here in Virginia Beach.

(5) I hope I can swing

Almost everyone will have a few major events during the course of life. Changing my nationality, becoming an American, was one of such major events in my life. I expressed my joy at the beginning of this song, however, it?s not so easy to change my habits to pronounce words clearly from Japanese-English to American-English. When I took an ESL (English language as Second learning) class a long time ago, besides English grammar, a class for the pronunciation was difficult one as I sang at the end of first chorus.

(6) Please remember my smile

We will always remember the morning of September 11, 2001. Let?s pray for them and more harmonious Earth and our peaceful mind/heart.

(7) Peace Song

We are given free will which can be used for destruction or for co-creation of peace with the Creative Force in the universe. Let?s use it for making wise and better choices for humankind with one step, one day, one moment at a time.

(8) God?s Lullaby

Have you been in a dark, dead end tunnel, not physically, but emotionally? If you?ve been there, you know exactly what the place is like, it can be called a ?hell.? One strategy for exit from this emotional hell is to apply forgiveness for others and, of course, for oneself. I know it?s easy to say and very hard to practice. The first line of this song starts with forgiveness for mistakes we make as a human being, this is a song of God?s Lullaby for seekers who search for their spiritual path.

(10) An Angel of Death

What would you do if An Angel visits you and said, ?Today is your last day, I?m here to take you away from Earth?? Would you be fine for leaving here with a moment notice or would you have regrets because you did not create a moment to express your love to your loved ones at the time you left home? I?ve been a single mother for a while, and there were times when I was so exhausted and tired from keeping up a daily routine and did not want to even open my mouth. One rainy day after our quarrel, I drove off to the main road, I just wanted to get out from the house, and when I tried to cross the road, a car clashed against mine, hit a driver side door. I found myself shaking, sitting on the seat and was not able to get out from my car. I thought about my son and the quarrel we had on a trifling matter. Since then, as much as I can, I?ve tried to create a moment for expressing my love to my loved ones when I say, ?Bye now.?

There is a saying, in Japan, ?Ichi-Go Ichi-E,? means ?Treasure every meeting, for it will never recur,? - one of teachings from the tea ceremony - encouraging us to be at the moment and living for ?here and now.?
