Album Notes

Ascent was formed in 1998 by Bruce Baldwin and Christina Baldwin, out of a desire to fully express their musical dreams. Bruce plays all the instruments, and Christina supplies the beautiful vocals. The music Ascent creates is not designed to fit neatly into any one musical genre. Ascent's primary goal is to inspire and move the listener through melody.

Ascent's performances demonstrate their many different facets. They appear as an acoustic guitar and vocal duo, as a drums and vocal duo, and as a sampled and looped orchestra of sound. Their latest CD, Extravagant Turmoil, reflects the diversity of their sound. The first ten tracks are acoustic, and the last six are full band recordings.
