Asheba is a musical storyteller who specializes in calypso, the musical and folkloric oral tradition of Trinidad, Asheba's homeland. Stories of hope and happiness are the focus of his songs, which range from original lullabies to fast tempo tunes to remakes of classics such as Itsy Bitsy Spider, Five Little Monkeys, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and You Are My Sunshine .
Now based in Oakland, Asheba has been performing at children's playspaces, museums, schools, hospitals, festivals and more for the past eleven years. Because his music is for all ages, abilities and backgrounds, you'll find children and parents alike joyfully singing, clapping and dancing along to it. Asheba's songs are currently available on Four CDs: "Go Itsy," "No More Monkeys," and "Children are the sunshine."and his new release titled "In The Kid Zone."

I love this CD! My son is currently 5 months old, so we play it for background music when we play. I also sing the songs and dance with him. It has been a life saver through this long cold winter in New York...the music brightens up our days! We will be listening to this CD for along time!

I got this CD to play at my one year old son's birthday party and it was a huge hit!! This is such fun music that is can be enjoyed by both kids and grown-ups. Go Itsy and Tropical Island are our favorites on this CD. Asheba's version of If you're happy is also great. All the Asheba CD's are fantastic!
