Album Notes

There is an attic in Ashland, Massachusetts where you can regularly hear toe-tappin', finger-snappin', tunes being played, and this is where the band's story begins. Taking their name from the aforementioned room, Ashlands Attic is comprised of Joe Benatti on drums, Ben Larracey on guitar, Mark Lawton on bass, and Ryan McMullen on lead vocals and keyboard. Even though they all went to College together, they never collided musically until after they left and realized the real world is just not much fun without a little music. The band molds the sound created by classic influences like The Beatles and Queen with the modern sounds of Coldplay and Keane to create a delicious concoction of pop/rock music that is hard to get out of your head. Ashlands Attic will make an addict of you.

Their first album, "To Shelley, With Love," is proof of their love for 60's & & 70's rock with a dash of the modern times. Songs like "Sticky Situation, Song In The Key of La, and Eyes in the Sky Tonight," are those kind of throwback songs to remind people of a time when music was simple, but still enjoyable to listen to. The main goal in making "To Shelley. With Love," having a fun compilation of songs that don't sound a lot like their counterparts, that way it gets harder for the listener, as well as the band, to get sick of them. They hope you have a good a time listening to it as they did making it.
