Album Notes

Asida Soul, pronounced Ah-See-Da-Soul, joins the esteemed ranks of multi-talented soul singers. This duo strives to live, experience and share life through song.

"In each new situation and in every life experience we have something to learn, to teach and to give. We have discovered that fans are looking for that special something in music that speaks to their hearts. Our fans can appreciate the soul behind our music. We sing about relevant issues that we have experienced and that allows us to share a realness with the audience. Asida Soul explores how each person can tap into what hurts, what feels good, and what moves them through music. We sing about relationships and love. We sing about life!"

SANNAYU'S BIOGRAPHY
Sannayu, a University of Houston graduate, was born in Houston, but spent many of her formative years in Detroit, Michigan. Sannayu was surrounded by a diverse range of music from R & B and blues stylists like Bobby Bland, BB King and Natalie Cole. By the time Sannayu was a teenager, she was exposed to all of the Motown greats like Diana Ross, Michael Jackson and Smokey Robinson. Later, Eryka Badu, Sade, Lauryn Hill and Jill Scott influenced Sannayu.

Sannayu has performed for 10 years in the local church choir. She has held a major acting and singing role in the ritual Drama “Lest We Forget,” a local play that ran in Houston for 4 consecutive seasons from 1997-2000. Between 2002-2005, Sannayu was the lead female vocalist for the R&B bands “Something Unique” and “Spot Light,” which played in the Houston and surrounding areas. She has recorded 3 radio hooks including a jingle for the Carmen Watkins morning show on Magic 102. Sannayu was also the lead female vocalist for the R&B Band, “Grady Gaines & the Texas Upsetters,” which currently tours across the state of Texas. In addition to possessing a rich, clear and strong voice, Sannayu also writes her own lyrics and arrangements. Friends and family describe her music as being sweet, soul stirring and painfully truthful.

TIA'S BIOGRAPHY
Sultry songwriter, keyboardist and vocalist Tia, developed her unique blend of R&B and traditional vocal pop with hints of contemporary folk due in large part to her unique upbringing. Born in Fort Lee, Virginia, this southern bell quietly grew up in Killeen, Texas. Her father sparked her love for music at the tender age of 4. Listening to her Father and Mother sing throughout her home, music became an instant love for her.
During her teenage years, Tia played the clarinet and piano which helped her to develop a great sense of harmonic structure. Later Tia put her musical talents on the back burner, and worked towards earning a degree in Computer Networking and Systems Administration at Texas State Technical College in Waco, TX.

After graduation, Tia decided to be closer to immediate family and moved Houston, TX. Tia was inspired to tap back into her writing due to her love for music. She became a keyboardist and vocalist for the R&B group “Impromptu” and later (2002) joined another R&B band “Something Unique” as a keyboardist and background vocalist. Tia has worked for the television court show Texas Justice and Judge Alex on FOX26 and also has been trained in Television Production. Having both raw talent and continuing her education in television production, and currently Business Management, Tia is not only able to create music, but use television as her media source.

Sannayu and Tia bring a mixture of R&B, Jazz and Soul to their unique lyrics that keeps their audience feeling the soul.

Touching songs for women who need to release feelings or emotions. Beautiful background vocals and the lead has a nice feel and sound.
