ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The unofficial 'Black Corps' of the industrial underground, ASMODEUS X comes forth to burn with fire. New alchemy for blood youth. A new blood groove for serpentine conciousness.

Sythesizing electro, darkwave, expressionist, Goetic, Objectivist and Left-Hand Path elements, ASMODEUS X is creating a unique hybrid for a visionary future. The sound has been described as Industrial, EBM, Darkwave, even "Folktronica".

Voted Critics Choice for best Industrial/Noise Act by the 2000 Houston Press Music Awards, ASMODEUS X continues sharpening long knives on the pavement. Asmodeus X has shared stages with such notables as Attrition, Diva Destruction, Provision, Bamboo Crisis, Bozo Porno Circus, Vesperian Sorrow, Exceed 6 Doses, and Nocturne.

Morningstar tells the Promethean story of a fall from grace, a struggle for identity, and the emergence of self-aware being. For this effort Asmodeus X is delving deep into the spheres of ebm, darkwave, future-pop and trance. A wholly synthetic effort drawing on analogue, digital and vintage synths, electronic percussion, vocoders, etc., Morningstar seeks to explore the seductively forbidden side of the human psyche and the essence creation, with hypnotic beats and darkly rich synth layers that point to a new paradigm for electronic music.

K2

Morningstar is a minimalist electronic soundscape that can be appreciated more as a full "body of work", rather than focusing on certain songs in particular...vintage synths, vocoders, trance-induced atmospheres and dark ambience permeate from this EBM release --ecclectic, spiritual, dark and haunting --the music is captivating and somber without being pidgeon-holed into one set genre of sound. A triumphant work that should not be missed.

Tin Tin

Good Brain Food.
Morning Star is a spiritualy mature investigation of "Satan" (for want of a better word). Looking closly at his origins, it presents a good - educated - non-biased piece. However, at times it feels unfinished and there is a distinct lack of balence to the piece. But, as with all good works, with a little work from the listener - a lot can be gained from this album and if your after somthing for your brain - check it out :D
