A.D. Smith and MINISTRIII Bio
There are a number of factors that make an artist appealing: the way they carry themselves, their ability to draw in cross-cultural crowds, the respect they have for their craft, and of course, the musical skills they possess. Yet, sometimes there are less overt ways an artist makes an impact. Sometimes an artist has worth simply because they resonate with an identifiable anointing that’s evident of divine connection and guidance.
On his debut release “The Act of Serving,” newcomer Musician/singer/songwriter/producer A.D. Smith and MINISTRIII, with a soaring combination of craft and compassion, offer songs of redemption, hope, and a love for God that is often tested by life moments. Their new release will available in local stores and online May 9, 2006. “The Act of Serving,” an independent release, is currently selling by the hundreds on pre-sales all based on their live performances and word of mouth.
The new project is filled with diversified tracks that take listeners from up tempo party driven grooves to intimate ballads that speak about God’s greatness and constant presence in our lives. “The Act of Serving” is rich and full of great conviction and inspiration. This album encourages people to acknowledge God’s love as being ever present, and to embrace Him as our hope in times of distress.
Just like the grasping lead single, "How Could He Love Me," the songs on the album flow slowly through each part of your body to the depths of your soul and spirit. From the R&B-induced "Neva B the Same" to the drum-n-bass filled “He Lives” and soulful ballad "I Love You Lord," A.D. Smith and MINISTRIII fluently transition into various eclectic styles with ease. "My job as an artist is to fill all of my creative gaps by expanding and making sure that I listen to God and deliver what He has said to me to others," says A.D. "Gospel music is gospel for the lyrics, the message of Christ: his love, teaching, and purpose for our lives. Our sound comes from fusing together all of the musical influences we have: from Kirk Franklin to Marvin Gaye."
Produced by A.D. Smith along with prominent Producer Marque Walker (Kevin Davidson and the Voices), A.D. Smith and MINISTRIII have already gained a mammoth following for an independent artist. Listening to their own voices, and then using that voice to express their joy, pain, and their love for God is what makes A.D. Smith and MINISTRIII so unique. "At the end of the day, our testimonies should reflect our relationship with God. We want to encourage others to continue on with Him, even when the world says it’s not worth it"
A.D. Smith and MINISTRIII are serving us with a heart, and sound for ministry. They are well on their way to impacting the community as well as the world in a positive and uplifting way.
