Each year, Archipel invites courageous music producers to work on a project with specific conditions. The concept for this second Assignement project is based around the number two: Two producers, each from different cities, producing two tracks, using the samples in Sample pack #2, with the result being two releases - a CD and a Netrelease.

This limited edition CD, carefully and seamlessly mixed by Pheek, contains 12 of these experimental collaborative efforts. It is a blend of rich warm and cool textures which flow just as smoothly as the ideas the artists shared while making them.

Navarro & des Cailloux et du Carbone begin the CD with their gentle connection from Paris to Montreal and back again. Letna & Gyges also from Paris and from Montreal render the listener's minds into a state of static euphoria wrapping its arms around the mind like a soft comforting blanket.

Receptor & Scant Intone from Santiago and from Montreal blend shuddering hits and echoing windows of sound to form the sound of a hot desert afternoon with a slightly cool breeze blowing hair back into the ocean.

Nuthre & krill.minima of Victoria and Dortmund churn out a slow grooving walk through a summer park with sunlit dew spattered grass.

The Tokyo Manchester connection from Ditch & DNCN brings a steady beat of dark late night funk to get lost in and wobble to.

This second Assignment brings you all the warmth and texture for all seasons to lay back and enjoy or to get your groove on with.
