Album Notes

Astralingua is a thoughtful blend of psychedelia, world music, choir-like harmonies and poetic lyrics. It is the creation of Bay Area composer/producer Joseph Andrew Thompson, and features many of the areas most talented musicians: drummer Paulo Baldi (Les Claypool, Cake), accordionist Rob Reich (Gaucho), charango player Eddy Navia (Savia Andina, Sukay), Spanish guitarist Gabriel Navia, woodwind player Ralph Carney (Tom Waits), and violinist Michele Walther. Constantly shifting styles and textures, each track flows seamlessly into the next, creating the impression of a drifting consciousness returned to a sense of wonder.
