Smooth and Swinging… Cool and Kicking... It first started some nine years ago when Atomic Boogie Band’s guitar player and vocalist, Jarno Sipilä had one swashbuckling idea in his head: “Let’s play some boogie and have a good time... and if people like it, let’s play some more.” Four gentlemen from the backalleys of Turku are playing some serious boogie and having a blast. With a couple of their own originals and a bunch of cover songs, few old jazz standards and some jumping rhythm’n’ blues numbers, Atomic Boogie Band has been a class act from the very beginning. Atomic Boogie Band is influenced by old entertainers and modern day retro acts, but still manages to create a sound of their own. “We always admired those old 40’s and 50’s classics with upright bass, drums with real skins, hollowbody guitars and smoking saxophones.
