Tonal Majesty presents... "Not Quite Classical" is in many ways exactly what it says: It is literally not quite "classical" but at the same time it is not quite "not classical." The album features the clarinet performing along side synthesizers in a delightful cross-genre experience. The songs were all written by Jamie K. Auberg over the past fifteen years.
Tonal Majesty is a one man musical ensemble founded by Jame K. Auberg. Jamie K. Auberg is an author, composer, and music educator; as well as an amatuer movie producer. He attended Christopher Newport University where he studied composition with Mastersergent Aldo Forte. He graduated from Christopher Newport University with a Bachelor of Music Degree in 1999. Currently Mr. Auberg teaches band at Hampton Christian Academy, general music and choir at Denbigh Christian Academy, and private clarinet and piano lessons at Centerstage Acaademy. He also is a freelance composer for the Virginia Film Company.
"Tonal Majesty" had its beginning in the early '90s when Mr. Auberg was still in High School. Originally called "Tonal Magic," the group consisted of three musicians (two clarinets and a Tenor Sax) playing along with synthesizers. Although he created the name "Tonal Magic," Mr. Auberg was unhappy with the name. Because of his strong religous beliefs he decided to drop the word "Magic" and came up with "Tonal Majesty." The group disappeared after High School, but Mr. Auberg attempted to restart it in college. When one of the members of the new "Tonal Majesty" left the college the group disappeared again. Now "Tonal Majesty" has returned, but with Mr. Auberg currently as the only live performer playing along with his "electric orchestra."
