Great CD
author: GregoThis CD I just heard is outstanding! This music is smooth and clean. With the smooth jazz and the fluid vocals of Howard Hewitt and of course Philip Bailey makes this CD an ALLSTAR cast. As someone else wrote that if "Love Comes in Time" and "Dominique" had some radio play, they would be a lot of peoples favorite...it is already mine!
fabulous!!!
author: keikoi fell in love with ew&f almost 30yrs ago and i had the same feeling when i first heard dominique on smoothjazz.com. thank you for fabulous music. i am planning an exhibition in roppongi, tokyo in nov and am going to use this cd as bgm. i appreciate your talented creativity which makes me(actually a lot of people) happy.
Ralph Shines!!
author: GENE HuddlestonThe CD was great. I totally belive if Dominque and/or Love Comes in time were to receive airplay, this alblum would be a total hit!
It is great jazz and easy listening music!!!!
author: G ADAMSAlthough I enjoyed every cut, I am partial to some of the classics when done WELL. The remake of the Miles Davis classic, "All Blue", version is superb. I can't say enough about it. It is hard to improve on an original but this is. This CD should be getting playing time on jazz stations.
Great Album by an extremly talented group
author: RonThis album was alot better than I expected. This group has alot of talent in it, and everyone got an opportunity to shine. This is one of the few albums that I have where I can let it play, and enjoy everything I hear. And this is from a person that doesn't even listen to jazz!
simply outstanding and very professional!
author: Smooth DCTakes me back to the smooth jazz of the early 70's. Expert instrumentation, with clear vocals. So good, I had to buy two. One as a gift to spred the news.
I Love It!
author: Terri PlaxicoI heard the CD for the first time and I love it! Each track has it's own appeal. Very smooth and soothing! Just geat!!
i liked it
author: babyraywith me being a drummer i liked the short but cool eventually live a drum thing, but the rest of the songs were good also.
Simply Wonderful!
author: Corey Plaxico-NicholsI first heard "Audio Caviar" at my boyfriends house and fell in love with the CD from the very start! You read the song titles, hear each track and each one takes you to a special place. I've been an EWF fan for a long time and love the band. The greatest band ever! ...It appears that Ralph was a big talent after all! A diamond in the rough! From "Hookline" to Dominique" you'll take a journey with this CD. Silky smooth drum lines and snakely soulful bottom ends that powers each track!I haven't heard anything that comes close to "Audio Caviar" in a long time. Two thumbs up! Simply Wonderful!
Fantabulous!
author: Gary NicholsThis CD is incredible! I knew from the moment the project was announced,it would be great! The CD is amazing and I cant put it down! Whenever EWF is in the area I make it my business to see them. I've love the band, the music and the mystic that surrounds these super, super talented musicians since they began! Ralph (Slick) has always been one of my favorites and now that he's doing his thing, he represents the very meaning of, "Shining Star For You To see, What Your Life Can truly Be". Before Audio Caviar released their CD, music was in sad state. Audio Caviar should do extremely well with this wonderful CD. Keep up the good work Slick!
Exciting, relaxing, calming and just plain great...
author: VIrgilFirst, let me say that I support my EWF members. I love the spirit that they bring on record and live. I support all their endeavours, but now I must tell you that Audio Caviar - Transoceanic is a great, great, great, great, grest CD. Thanks You. PS - Even the art work on the CD cover is aweinspiring...Peace, Fan 4 Life
Simply amazing. Truly the best jazz recording I have heard all year.
author: Eferem L. HurdleAudio Caviar is an explosive mix of great jazz. Hookline is one of the greatest songs I have ever heard. What makes this CD so good is that the artist's went back to the basics (which is what you don't see a lot of today). Each instrument adds its own special flavor; and when you listen to the CD, you can hear their distinction as well as their wonderful harmony together. Marcel, Ralph, Morris and their guests are truly on one accord musically and spiritually on this one. I am eternally grateful for such a beautiful gift. When is the tour?

If this album was was being judged on American Idol, it would definitly take top honors. What a great smooth jazz album. I wish much success to Ralph and hope to hear more from him. Much Love
Great music
author: R. BaptisteGreat CD with great music. I'll hope that a lot of projects like this, where present and former members of EWF members where involved, will follow
Excellent CD, superb sound!
author: MickeyssWhat a CD! I really love it and have been playing it over and over again; I'm even turning some other individuals on the the CD. I am a fan of EWF and I can hear their style coming through the album. I would suggest this CD to anyone looking for the smooth sound of jazz.
Perfect music with all the elements you need!
author: AlcindorThe CD is the best I've heard in a few years! The instrumentation, vocals, rhythm, beat, and everything else are well done. I am glad to have come across it and I am sure all that do will enjoy it just as much.
A Treasure For Years To Come
author: JacqualineJust when you thought that music couldn't get any better... along comes the magnificent debut of Audio Caviar's Transoceanic. This cd is truly a treasure for years to come, as Ralph Johnson, Morris Pleasure, and Steen Kyed step out in classic style. Transoceanic's unique artistic mastery leaves listeners spellbound to the last track....craving for more.
The Freshest sound on the scene in 20 years!
author: Dargirl1Transoceanic is the most masterful blend of Jazz, R&B and Funk the music world has produced in 20 years! The writing is incredible and the musicianship is superb. The driving baseline and funky keyboards on Hookline is reminiscent of that 'old school' funk of the 70's. The Smooth Jazz genre gets royal treatment on the tracks Jodie, Now that I've Found You and if you like your jazz a little more mainstream, you'll love Tel Aviv and All Blues. There is even a little funk with Latin American flavor in 5th House There isn't a bad track on this CD! Audio Caviar is raising the bar with this on. What you've regarded as musicianship is about to change...as soon as you listen to this CD.
Gotta get this one!
author: Kevin SThis has to be one of THEE best jazz cd's to come out in awhile. And I can say that becasue of the list of names associated with it. If you are a fan of piano, keyboards, percussion and guitar then this is what you have been waiting for! All this, and more, has been blended into some the most relaxing and groovin' smooth melodies I've heard in a long, long time. With all this talent, I'm surprised they didn't have to make the disk bigger! Ralph Johnson (percussion) has shown why he has been a member of the group "Earth, Wind and Fire" for as long as he has. How nice it is to finally hear his musical talent in the forefront. Morris Pleasure adds so much of his abilities on the piano, keys, bass and flugelhorn (a one man band in and of himself!)to this project. And, Steen Kyed (guitars), where has this guy been hiding? It must have been worth the trip because he is Phenomenal! My favorite, "Jodie" has this trio playing together on a soft, instrumental round of repeating lines between the piano and guitar. The only thing missing was a martini in my hand! Add in some more great artists, as mentioned in the other reviews, and this CD turns into a gem. I hope they all had as much fun making this as I am listening to it.
Ralph Johnson has really shown what he is capable of
author: NickI have been looking forward to this CD for a while and I am pleased to say that it is even better than I had hoped for. Ralph Johnson is such a great percussionist, we can now see why he has been with Earth Wind & Fire for so long and Mo Pleasure is the ultimate multi talent, for a long time EWF fan this is a real treat. BUY IT, listen then BUY ANOTHER
Absolutely wonderful!
author: ShiningStar730Wonderful CD, extremely enjoyable and just the right mix of different elements to make it unique. Great instruments, catchy melodies, and nice ambiance. Special nods go out to “Dominique” with Philip Bailey’s heavenly vocals, the catchy “Hookline”, plus “Love Comes in Time”, a heartfelt ballad featuring Howard Hewett on lead vocals. They are all superb! The latter is definitely a prime candidate for a single! It’s suitable for airplay by pop (Top 40), R&B, adult contemporary, and easy listening radio stations. Don’t let some of those categories throw you off now. The melody as well as Howard Hewett’s singing pull you in slowly at the beginning, then captivate you completely by the chorus. Philip Bailey does his wonderful trademark backing vocals, reminiscent of “Be Ever Wonderful” near the end of the song. The rest of the harmonious backing vocals, superb instrumentation (groovy horn) plus inspirational lyrics comprise the essential ingredients for a memorable hit. Definitely worth checking out!
OUTSTANDING!!!
author: DevotionEWFI recieved Audio Caviar two days after I ordered it. I haven't stopped listening to it yet. What a treat to have so many talented artists on one cd.
Blown Away!
author: VanessaI am blown away! I received my Audio Caviar CD a week ago, and have since played it everyday! Although “Hookline” is my favorite, there is not one song on this CD that I do not love. I love the “Transoceanic Prayer” opening because it evokes a powerful sensation of Mysticism. It is a good lead to the elegant, jazzy tunes of the rest of the CD. I’m a huge fan of Phillip Baily, Verdine White, Al McKay, George Duke and Howard Hewitt. It is a pleasure to experience their creative talents on this CD. This is the best! I look forward to hearing more great music from Audio Caviar.

These guys have really put it all together-Smooth Jazz, great vocals, funked-out bass all backing some spiritual lyrics. With 15 tracks, the disc just keeps going. If you're a fan of Jazz this CD is a must-have for your collection.
This cd grabs yu and doesn't let go!
author: FantasyGRL57get ready to mellow out....this cd grabs you and doesn't let go...from start to finish...not a song yu wouldn't like..if you have to buy a cd this year....let this be the one...best money you'll spend on music...it's up there with the big ones!....many thanx to the 'great ones' that created Audio Caviar...truly solid gold!
Truly inspirational musical contributions from legends in Pop/Jazz/Funk.
author: Allnallcontains alot of spirited vocal and instrumental contributions from talented people. Ralph has really created a classic adult/smooth jazz/sophisticated funk CD that everyone who is a fan of Jazz should get. My personal favorites are Dominique, with Phil's heavenly vocals, Verdine's incomparable bass and wonderful supporting elements of guitars and piano accompaniment, this song bears repeating over and over again until you memorize the refrain and is in my mind the leading candidate for FIRST SINGLE from the album, "Hookline", which is a nice slice of jazz/funk, with clever lyrics and a great melody which would sound at home on any sophisticated/progressive R&B station as well as your local jazz stations, "Welcome", which to those ears that listen very intently contains snippets of the melody from the EW&F "Heritage" song as well as a truly beautiful and inspired piano accompaniment from Morris Pleasure who's talent in a BIG way really shines thru like never before on the whole CD., "Love Comes in Time", which is carried into wondrous heights with Phil's otherworldy vocals at the end of the song, very reminiscent of EW&F vocals, esp. (to my ear) somewhat like "Be Ever Wonderful" and what truly is a testament to lyrical and inspirational keyboard playing "The Closing Prayer", where Morris takes us on many musical journeys with his cascading piano notes and haunting twists and turns. This is truly a wonderful CD that everyone should give themselves the opportunity to sample.
THE ENTIRE CD IS A MASTERPIECE!!!
author: CreamyThis cd evokes so many feelings. I was immediately drawn into the flow of this cd with the opening Transoceanic Prayer and caught in the Hookline and it was full steam ahead. This cd has it all, full bodied intricate melodies, synochopated beats, interludes, fusion and strong vocals. From beginning to end, there isn't a cut on this cd I don't like.
How can I forget????
author: BermudaGirlI forgot to add: love comes in time...that song is great...
FAB----U---LOUS....are the only words I can think of!
author: BermudaGirlI love this CD....especially the tunes: now that I've found you/hookline the instrumental and the vocal version/ fifth house/ welcome/ and last but not by any means least DOMINIQUE....that song is a HIT! I would venture to state that just about every TRACK is great..definately worth waitin for!!!!!
