ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Auret's style is described as an Edge of Evanescence, a Soul of Lauren Hill and Sophistication of Alicia Keys…all wrapped in leopard print. Her story is about liberation through pursuit of passion. With this philosophy, Auret has established herself as a singer & songwriter, co-founded her own business, called Essetino ConneXions, to help other artists market and brand themselves online, and has achieved two publications in poetry. She has also competed in two international conventions for talent, in Las Vegas (July 2010) and Los Angeles (January 2011), against hundreds of other performers from around the world and brought home a trophy for 3rd runner up in the adult singing division. Referred to as an "amazing ball of energy" by Gonzo Online and featured in the BC Province Newspaper, Auret’s journey has just begun.

Born in South Africa with an exotic cultural background, this singer has come to appreciate various types of music, from 80s pop to middle-eastern sounds to modern hip hop/R&B. Some of her influences include Evanescence, Lauren Hill, Michael Jackson and Rihanna. Auret's love for lyrical composition and singing led her to begin working on her first album with talented music producer Nick Hope of HMP Recording. Her debut album entitled “I Am” (released May 2011) combines empowering lyrics with urban beats and pop/rock music, and is also available for sale on iTunes and other online retailers. After promoting her album online and on National showcase tours, Auret decided to "turn up the edge" and venture more towards Dance / Hip Hop / Electro Pop arena, which led her to working with the Hendrix of Hip Hop himself, Jimi Dali (worked with Swollen Members). "Pyromaniac" and "You Are No You" were born and are now also available for sale on iTunes and other online retailers
