Autumn and the Fall Guys play an interesting mix of bluegrass, country, rock, and whatever else we decide to do. First Frost contains original country/folk songs with a few traditional bluegrass numbers and one cover thrown in for good measure.
Autumn and the Fall Guys formed in March 2005 as a natural evolution from a group called VanAsh when the "Ash" of VanAsh moved on to do other things. The members are:
Autumn Rose: banjo, vocals
Hank Van Buren: lead guitar, vocals
Chris Martin: guitar, vocals
Chris Purdum: bass, vocals
Each member contributes their own uniqueness to the sound. Autumn's banjo playing is her forte, and she's learned to play banjo on songs that are not for the faint of heart tradition bluegrass player. Hank has contributed his songwriting skills for the majority of the original numbers. Chris Martin adds his unique rhythm styles, and Chris Purdum brings in the bottom with the bass, and the top with sweet harmonies.
