Album Notes
Born and raised in America's heartland, Autumn's passion for music flows from the inspired soul of the Midwest.

Devoted to the piano by age six, Autumn's expansive repertoire includes voice, drums, flute, and guitar. With scholarship offers from across the country, Autumn chose the prestigious music program at the University of Texas in Austin, graduating in 2004 with a degree in Classical Piano. During these formative college years, she discovered and honed a talent and desire for songwriting.

In her junior year at UT, Autumn discovered a second calling, accepting an internship with KAMX's "JB and Sandy Morning Show" - the #1-rated radio program in Austin. Renown radio hosts, JB Hager and Sandy Rivers quickly recognized Autumn's aptitude and drive, selecting her for the coveted position as their on-air sidekick. Currently the female voice of the celebrated show, listeners have avidly followed Autumn on her exciting journey as a songwriter and radio personality.

In 2006, Autumn signed a record deal with Highway 29 Records. Collaborating with acclaimed musicians and producers Walt Wilkins and Tim Lorsch, Autumn recorded her debut album, "Sugarcane" - released June 2006. Enlisting the support of an impeccable songwriting pool including Walt Wilkins, Bruce Robison, Patty Griffin, newcomer Heather Morgan, and British icon, Robbie Williams - "Sugarcane" is a rich mosaic, highlighting Autumn's expansive vocal style and range.

Whimsical and sweet, honest and sincere, insightful and poignant - "Sugarcane" is like an infinite stretch of open blue skies, the smell of tall grass in the rain, or the warm honey-glow of fireflies on a summer night. Highlighting the nostalgic beauty of youth's simplicity, "Sugarcane" embodies the potent and joyous spirit of life. Bright, fresh, and fun - Autumn invites you on a walk through the sugarcane.

Love it! haven't listened to the radio since I got this CD, it just plays over and over. Even my kids love the title song and request it anytime we go in the car for 5 minutes. Keep up the great work and give us more!!!

refreshingly different
SugarCane has enough variation in style and pace to make it refreshingly interesting and different. It works well to show off Autumn's range and tallent. She seems to tiptoe between jazz, blues and pure country. A nice change of pace.

wonderful songs and great voice

Sean on Bass

great voice & organ player
solid CD - autumn has a great voice and good songwriter - some falsetto vocals would really ice the cake. The organ playing also really caps the CD - nice Americana/gospel feel.

The reggae-ish tune is also well done. title track is quite good. Solid indie rock effort - worth a listen!

GREAT CD!!!!!!
It is so refreshing to finally buy a CD that has more than 1 good song on it. This entire CD is fabulous. Autumn has a wonderful voice and her passion for her mucis is obvious.

Wow! While purchasing the fantastic record by Nick Martin "Lonesome Time" I was tipped on CD Baby about Autumn's album and I listen and added it to the shopping cart.A great record and I recommend it to everyone! Bright Lightning

It's always striking to hear honest compassion and feeling come through as clearly as it does on this collection of songs. Backed by alternating acoustic and electric blues guitar and piano that adds a touch of country pop to the mix, it's easy to believe every word that Autumn sings. The tracks are varied, moving easily between upbeat fun("Don't Make Me Do It") and slower, heartfelt ballads("Peace of Mind"). Fans of Sheryl Crow and Bonnie Raitt will enjoy and respect this for what it is: A never-boring gathering of songs that is strong in all the right places. The combination of sincere lyrics, textured vocals, and the nicely produced musicianship really make these tracks stand out.
