This album is the long-awaited tribute to my mother, Eloise Dupree. She only liked the blues when my brother (Frank) or myself were playing them. Sistah Dupree (as she was known far and wide) thought our blues sounded more hopeful and less depressing. Who knew I'd be the happy blues singer?...
What I like most about this album is that out of the 12 cuts, I wrote seven of them. I've come a long way from thinking that no one would care what I had to say to realizing that I have a lot to say.
