Album Notes

Avandguard is songwriter mike kondol. While doing his first demo as a young lad at Kaye Smith studios in Seattle a few years ago, he got to meet Steve Miller and Ann & Nancy Wilson, who were recording their landmark albums there. In the late 80's, he was now playing in band called the "Smoldering Remains". They sounded similiar to the bands of that era, like the Replacements. Kondol met Scott McCaughey, who was working at a record shop in Seattle University District. He had just put out a LP with the Young Fresh Fellows and was playing it at the store. Each time they met, McCaughey encouraged him to pursue his projects.A few years later after several demos
Seattle producer Jack Endino mastered this cd "Cartoon Hearts".It's songs sounding similiar to Alejandro Escovedo, Ryan Adams and Robert Pollard.
