This 2009 release by the San Francisco based group, Avatar Ensemble, showcases the band's wide ranging repertoire of gypsy jazz, modern swing, Latin grooves and fiery gypsy melodies. Stemming from the musical tradition of Django Reinhardt, Avatar Ensemble implements many elements of modern jazz, Latin music and contemporary jazz to the gypsy jazz repertoire creating a collection of music that is truly unique and fresh.

The term "Giniker", meaning "heat" or "fire" comes from Gaelic and represents the "fire" with which the band strives for when belting out their high energy intense swing!
