WOW, THE EMOTIONAL SIDE: YOUR FIRST TIME AND THE MUSIC OF YOUR LIFE
Do you remember the feeling of the first time? First time you kissed your lover, first time you ate a delicious dish, first time you listened to an artist that changed your life…
You probably miss this feeling of excitation, that would bring you back to the time you were living a slightly more rock’n’roll life.
Pushing on the ‘play’ button will offer you the sensations you can expect from such a long-time independent project like Awaken. Some call it psychedelic, soulful or even magnetic.
After a regenerating meditative hiatus and several records from Gilles Snowcat, Awaken is back as a band, featuring some crazy lads from the psychedelic and indies scene in Europe.
Starting with “How Many ‘L’ Were In Your Name?”, this new single takes you to a psychedelic era where music was the expression of a kind of unexpected freedom. This is raw, organic and pulsed.
The second track is a remake from Snowcat’s “My Last Evening In Ôita”, that brings a darker and more soulfully caressing mood inside your room. Although obviously melancholic, this tune depicts the feeling of intriguing beauty of an Asia city like Ôita when evening comes.
After this introspective promenade, it would be recommended to shake your body on a brighter dance-floor: the hi-NRG mix of “How Many ‘L’ Were In Your Name?” keeps the Awaken discoïd tradition alive!
In total, 20 minutes of a trip you were probably not expecting to take, but rumour has it that you already book another ticket.
