Album Notes

In almost every big city you'll find an "urban reservation." The one in Milwaukee, Wisconsin birthed the Acoustic Warriors. Begun six years ago as a Native American acoustic folk rock duo, Acoustic Warriors have evolved into an intricately guitar driven trio, speaking to both contemporary and traditional issues through their original music. Ron Jones, of Hochungra (Winnebago) heritage, has been writing songs and music for over 20 years. His lyric voice ranges from the bluegrass of the hills of Indiana to a vocalization of the ancient indigenous tribes of the world. He is also a Master Luthier, a builder and repairer of stringed instruments. Andy Connors, a member of the Bad River Ojibwe tribe, is a published author as well as accomplished songwriter. His music is driving and speaks directly to the modern realities of urban Indian existence. He is also Director of the Woodland Nations Community Theater at Milwaukee's Indian Community School. The newest member of Acoustic Warriors, Adam Singer, graduated from the Milwaukee High School of the Arts having majored in Instrumental Music. A Crow/Chippewa Cree originally from Billings, Montana, he brings his musical expertise to bear on percussion, guitar and bass instruments. He also both directs and acts with the Woodland Nations Community Theater. The Acoustic Warriors have played three years at the Indian Summer Festival in Milwaukee, been featured at the Kohler Arts Center, and played numerous colleges, festivals, and folk and rock venues in the midwest. They have just produced a three song advance sampler of their upcoming CD, "Coup Stick Warrior." For more information and/or booking, contact warriors@nativevoices.net

Five Stars
author: James Duckworth
This CD is worth 5 stars as far as I’m concerned. I only give 4 or 5 stars. When I was young my mother said that if you do not have anything good to say then don’t say nothing at all. So, if I buy a CD and I am sorry I did that…my response is to not rate it at all. If I am glad I got it I give it 4 stars. If I am overjoyed that I bought that CD it gets 5 stars.
