Yoga and meditation keep me centered. Pranayama has added a new demention to my practice. I have read "Yoga for Depression" and have added Amy's CD to expand my practice and help me to taper off my anti-depressants (with my Dr.s guidance). My future goal is to become a certified yoga instructer and help others to "beat the blues." Amy is a blessing and an inspriation!!

I've been practicing yoga (and reaping the benefits) for about 5 years. Although I've never suffered from clinical depression I've had my share of bad days and rough times just like anyone else. Amy's book, Yoga For Depression, and her CD, Breath to Beat the Blues, are tremendous uplifting tools suited for anyone, whether you are depressed or on top of the world. I use Amy's CD on a regular bases to keep myself feeling balanced and keep the dark clouds at bay.

Amy's book, "Yoga for Depression" changed my life. It lead me to a daily yoga practice. The natural next step was to buy this CD. The breathwork can be done by anyone and can truly change your state of mind and mood. If you or anyone you know suffers from depression, this CD is a great buy.

I read amy Weitraub's book Yoga for Depression aftertaking beginning yoga classes and realizing how yoga lifted my spirits and increased my well being. I discovered the book by chance in a shop. The book really gives an in depth understnding of yoga with posture practices and pranayama breathing. It is both an inspirational and great resource book. I wanted more , so I decided to order the CD "Breathing to Beat the Blues", which I located through Amy's website, Yogafordepression.com and ordered through CD Baby. It is a wonderful addition and can be used and individual short breathing exercises or at the start of postures or all at once for a mediative session. The breathing exercises coincide and describe the ones illustrated in the book. Hope this helps anyone interested.

    author: Beth

I love this CD. The music is beautiful and Amy's lovely voice leads her listeners through breathing exercises that are healing for anyone, whether or not they suffer from depression. She gives suggestions about which tracks to use for anxiety versus depression. My favorite is track 4. This is a good complement to any yoga practice and was wonderful to experiment with after reading her amazing book,Yoga. I have been enthusiastically sharing Amy's work- both CD and book- with my friends.

I suffer from chronic clinical depression. I was in the dark stages of an episode and tried this CD. After sereral hours the darkness lifted and I was feeling great. There is no doubt in my mind that this breahting technique works. I've never gotten this kind of relief from anything else including anti-depressants, which I am no longer taking.

  • Excellent for learning about breathing
    author: Don

I've just begun focusing on breathing to help in relaxation and stress reduction. I took breathing for granted as many people do, but I came across Dr. Weill's introductory breathing CD. I wanted to expand my breathing exercises, and this CD is great. It's the next step in developing your breathing for better health.

  • Exceptional in the quality of instruction and benefits of breath
