The glorious awkward message of "Get Normal" touched the souls of many (about 214 people to be exact) and is now spreading (almost imperceptibly) throughout the cultivated parts of Jefferson County, WA and soon - the world.
It first opened at Key City Playhouse in Port Townsend, WA - a victorian seaport known for containing many artsy characters, awkward souls and a volunteer police department whose vigilant (and elderly) officers drive patrol cars that come in the form of shiny white golf carts.
This album was recorded live in the studio in one evening using a black upright piano ("You can hear the wood of the piano age," said Tom Brown the engineer) and one ribbon microphone. Here you hear the Awkward Guys as though they had taken up residence in your commodious drawing room in order to help you come to terms with your own inner awkwardness.
It is the hope of both the Awkward Guys and of Alfred Lord Winterbottom that this intimate recording will move you to uncontrollable laughter and tears for all the right reasons and ultimately save your awkward soul as well as those of your loved ones and kin.
