This is one of the jazziest bits of Afrobeat you are likely to hear in a long time -- thanks to some excellent work on piano and keyboards by group leader and founder Funsho Ogundipe! Funsho's not content to just copy some Fela Kuti -inspired groove -- the music also has a much deeper range of tones and inflections throughout -- soaring with jazzy colors that really illuminate the whole record wonderfully -- Funsho plays acoustic piano and both Fender and Wurlitzer electric piano here -- and other instrumentation includes saxes, guitar, and plenty of heavy percussion -- mostly instrumental throughout, but with vocals on three tracks. A groundbreaking album from one of Nigeria's most influential Jazz influenced musicians.

Though i must confess i prefered ayetoro 1st cd, this nu set is more on a jazzy tip infused with afrobeat i like the way ayetoro infuses jazz in the real sense of it with afrobeat music especially the use of the jazz guitar. this is 100% turn around from the first 'chronicles' but also fits easily into any good music lover collection stand outs
Oga (reflect on the mentality and sensibility of the so called nigerian 'big man,Afrobeat.com (get under your skin smoothly)Mr xyz (love kwesi ghananian rap, works well with afrobeat)Pepple street blues(more of a straight up jazz track which you get use too over time)all in all a great cd
ps Mr Funsho Ogundipe i don't know if you get to read your cd reviews but AYE A TORO peace, akingbemi
