Album Notes

If you ask anyone who has ever met Ayme, they will tell you that she has captivating energy and profound depth, partnered with an endearing sense of humor. She digs beneath the surface with her music. There is a serious undertone to Ayme's caring lyrics but her music can also make audiences laugh because of its candidness. "I refuse to just be a singer up on a stage", she says, "I connect with my audiences. It’s about moving people." Her insights are conveyed through her sensually vibrant voice and keen ability to communicate nuance. The way she sings is sometimes poetic, sometimes theatrical, and always from the heart. Ayme's magnetic personality, passionate voice and energetic performance style really shone through in late 2000 when she was selected from thousands as the winner of Miami’s hit radio station Y-100's BIG BREAK CONTEST. Ayme performed in front of 15,000 people as one of three finalists at Y-100's annual "Wing Ding" along with Mandy Moore, Willa Ford, KC and the Sunshine Band, and Five for Fighting, among others. Ayme won over the crowd and impressed guest celebrities Jon Secada and Meredith Brooks. Y-100 then announced to their South Florida audience that Ayme had won the final talent search and awarded her with a two-song demo deal with world-renowned producer, Emilio Estefan. In 2001 Ayme recorded the demo at Estefan's Crescent Moon Studios in Miami, and made her debut on Y-100's Morning Show to much acclaim. In June 2005, Ayme won SingerUniverse’s “Best Vocalist of the Month” Competition which has garnered interest from top A & R executives and producers. In early 2006, Ayme was chosen to compose a theme song for the INTERNATIONAL RETT SYNDROME ASSOCIATION(IRSA) 2006 awareness campaign. Her song, "Silent Angels" can be heard on IRSA's website at www.rettsyndrome.org. Most recently, Ayme was chosen to join the M.O.S.T., a songwriting/publishing venture headed by soul/R&B diva, Betty Wright (vocal coach for P. Diddy’s “Making the Band” on MTV as well as recording artists Joss Stone, Gloria Estefan and Jennifer Lopez, to name a few). Ayme has become a sought-after songwriter, also currently collaborating with Grammy-Award nominated producer, Jose-Luis Pagan (Marc Anthony, Thalia, Jennifer Lopez) as well as world-renowned drummer/producer, Lee Levin (Ricky Martin, Kelly Clarkson, Julio Iglesias).

Ayme's diverse background has added to her musical stylings. Born and raised in Miami to a Cuban father and an American-born actress/director mother, Ayme became immersed in musical theatre, following in her mother's footsteps. Her musical background has allowed her to develop amazing versatility, and has given her the opportunity to perform many genres including pop, Latin, rock, folk, country, jazz, musical theatre, and opera. Ayme's first love of music came at age 6 when she discovered Billy Joel. His poignant lyrics and ingenious melodies led her to study piano. At 6 1/2 years old she could play and sing all of the songs from her favorite musical, "Annie". Ayme graduated with a degree in musical theatre from New World School of the Arts and attended Florida State University’s music program, but left after two years to pursue a career in the recording arts. She has received awards for outstanding achievement in both acting and singing. She is also an experienced voice-over talent, and has done work for a DISNEY project among others.

In late 2005, Ayme recorded her original songs at What’s Up Music Studios in Denver, Colorado with producer, Tom Cangemi (Mandy Moore, Willa Ford, LFO). Her debut album titled “Wonderland” is set to be released in July 2006.
