Album Notes

Inspired by words, poetry and music represents a necessary form of expression for me. I say necessary because whenever I do poetry and music in general, it’s a form of therapy and hence expression that feels intrinsic. I grew up in Nigeria and moved to America as a teenager and both places along with my life experiences are what drives the content in my work.

Growing up in Nigeria was an amazing experience for me. Frankly, things weren’t always great but I used the word “amazing” to describe it because it has made me everything that i am and aspire to be. To get a better sense of my poetry, you just have to listen to it to form your own opinions but I will say that I am limitless in what I write about because I write how and what I feel.

Ultimately I hope to make a difference especially as it regards to social justice as well as to inspire people.I want people to feel the passion and i hope it's transferable through my performance and writing. I go anywhere where music and potery take me and so I have performed in Nigeria, Houston, Dallas, Detroit, Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Philadephia, Virginia, Worcester (MA), Atlanta, New York, Kalamazoo, Oklahoma City, Shreveport (LO), Pontiac, Saginaw, and numerous other places and venue. {ayoinmotion.com}
