Album Notes

At the start of a new hopeful political era, Azalea City offers our Sampler 3 CD, a collection of politically-charged songs. With wit and pathos, Azalea artists approach the themes of freedom, immigration, consumerism and the effects of big business. The dozen tracks are mostly penned by the artists, with a peppering of choice cover tunes. The CD comes to a close with a group sing/medley of three of the most famous and well-loved protest songs including lost verses of "This Land Is Your Land."

Azalea musicians who appear on the Sampler 3 include Joe Uehlein, Jon Carroll, Ruth Logsdon, Jesse Palidofsky, Zoe Mulford, Seth Kibel, Carey Creed, Karen Collins, and Laura Baron. Each artist adds a distinctive sound to the recording ranging from Americana, roots rock and Brazilian jazz to traditional folk.
