A-Zamar

Birthed from the ministry of Lawrence Raphael Powell and the Agape Family Worship Center, A-Zamar is a music ministry whose focus is dynamic praise and pure worship. The ministry, formerly known as The Love Church, started with humble beginnings, meeting in a garage, hotel meeting rooms, and then a converted elementary school gymnasium, and transported keyboards, a PA system, and a drum machine! But a faithful few established the foundation for a dynamic ministry.

Based on Pastor Larry’s vision to capture the worship experience at Agape, the Agape praise team and choir recorded their first CD, Agape Live!, which was released in 1999, under Agape’s own label, Impact Records. This project was a step of faith, and the fruits showed just what God could perform and set the stage for things to come.

After the call to continue the vision, and prophetic words of a “fresh, unique sound” to come out of Agape, God established A-Zamar, “Agape-Praise” … a group of gifted and anointed psalmists and minstrels, whose sole purpose is to lead people into His presence.

A-Zamar has backed such notable artists as Donnie McClurkin, Edwin and Walter Hawkins, Tramaine Hawkins, BeBe Winans, Kurt Carr, Judith Christie-McAlister, and many others.

Agape Live 2, is a diverse collection of dynamic songs of praise, with a stellar cast of notable musicians such as Joel Smith, Jonathan DuBose, Jr, Jeff Davis, and Mo’ Horns. Produced by the incomparable Joe “Flip” Wilson, this collection is sure to bless listeners throughout the country and abroad!
